Job Description

Bio-Logical’s mission is to create climate-resilient communities around the world. By harnessing a circular economy, we transform agricultural waste into Bio-Grow, a high-impact soil-regenerating biochar compost, which will be returned to our network of over 100,000 smallholder farmers in Kenya whilst sequestering 25,000 Tonnes of CO2 annually. We are developing a portfolio of projects across East and South Africa that will sequester 300K Tonnes of CO2 annually in 2025. Our aim is to sequester 1 million Tonnes of CO2 and support 1 million smallholder farmers by 2030.

Job Brief

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving and overseeing the growth of the area fertilizer business by executing a go-to-market strategy that ensures development and expansion.

Responsibilities and Deliverables:

  • Sell Bio-Logical products within your area of operation.
  • Develop and defend Bio-Logical products and market share by achieving sales targets and implementing go-to-market strategies for key segments.
  • Build strategic partnerships with distribution partners in your area.
  • Monitor and report on market activities, competitors, market trends and market opportunities to ensure strategic decision-making
  • Responsible for planning, managing, and defending sales accounts while also representing Bio-Logical during sales events, trade shows, and external/internal customer meetings.
  • Acquire farms for demo plots to showcase Bio-Logical products
  • Manage demonstration trials to generate more sales while maintaining a high level of professionalism with stockists & farmers
  • Achieving healthy sales – by ensuring credit sales are collected on time, thus maintaining minimum DSO
  • Ensure nil customer churn rate
  • Ensure adherence to all Bio-Logical guidelines and procedures to maintain compliance standards
  • Recommend, oversee, and guide promotion activities to realize maximum returns on investment.

Requirements and skills

  • Diploma/ Degree in an agriculture-related field with at least 2 years sales & marketing experience. Candidates with business-related qualifications with experience in agro-sales will be considered.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in selling Agro-inputs
  • Deep awareness of the Agro-inputs supply chain
  • Experience in running knowledge transfer initiatives
  • A team player with good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a corporate and matrixed environment with multiple cross-functional stakeholders
  • Able to plan well and work under minimum supervision.
  • Self-driven and motivated with strong organizational abilities.
