Finance & Administration Manager

Position Summary

inABLE is seeking a highly experienced and proactive Finance & Administration Manager to ensure the financial integrity and operational efficiency of our organization. This role is critical for providing strategic financial oversight, ensuring strict compliance with donor regulations, and managing the financial operations of multiple projects and consortia. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented leader with extensive experience in NGO accounting and donor-funded projects.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Financial Leadership & Oversight

  • Provide strategic financial leadership for the entire organization, conducting robust financial analysis and modeling to guide decision-making by the Board and senior leadership.
  • Direct the financial planning and budgeting process for the organization and all projects, ensuring alignment with strategic goals. This includes the development and management of complex, multi-million-dollar consortia budgets.
  • Establish and enforce a rigorous framework of internal controls and financial policies to safeguard organizational assets and ensure fiscal integrity.

Donor Compliance & Strategic Reporting

  • Own the end-to-end donor reporting lifecycle, from budgeting and forecasting to the preparation and timely submission of precise financial reports that comply with stringent donor guidelines (e.g., MasterCard Foundation, USAID, etc.).
  • Serve as the organizational authority on donor compliance, proactively interpreting complex regulations and embedding requirements into financial systems and processes.
  • Lead the strategic management of sub-grant partnerships, conducting pre-award due diligence, negotiating agreements, and monitoring partner financial performance to mitigate risk.

Audit, Risk & Systems Management

  • Lead all internal and external audit engagements, acting as the primary liaison with auditors and driving the implementation of management actions to address findings.
  • Identify and proactively manage financial and operational risks, developing and implementing mitigation strategies to protect the organization’s interests and reputation.
  • Spearhead the continuous improvement of financial systems and software, leveraging technology to automate processes, enhance reporting capabilities, and increase operational efficiency.

Administrative & Operational Management

  • Oversee and streamline core administrative functions, including procurement, logistics, IT, and office management, to ensure they provide effective support to program delivery.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Finance and Administration team, building a high-performing unit capable of supporting the organization’s strategic growth.

Qualifications, Skills & Competencies

Core Qualifications:

  • A Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration, coupled with a professional accounting certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CMA).
  • 8-10 years of progressive financial leadership experience within the NGO sector, with a proven track record in managing multi-donor, multi-project portfolios.
  • Expert-level knowledge of financial regulations and reporting requirements for major institutional donors; direct experience with MasterCard Foundation reporting is a significant advantage.

  • Financial Modeling & Strategic Planning: Proven expertise in developing financial models, long-term forecasts, and scenario analyses to guide organizational strategy and resource allocation.

Leadership & Influence

  • Exceptional Communication & Influence: Superior verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial information clearly to diverse audiences, including non-financial stakeholders, the Board, and donors. Ability to influence strategic decision-making.
  • Proactive Stakeholder Management: A proven track record of effectively managing relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, auditors, consortium partners, and sub-grantees.

Operational Excellence & Governance

  • Risk Management & Compliance: A deep understanding of operational and financial risk management, with experience designing and implementing robust internal control systems and ensuring strict adherence to regulatory and donor compliance.
  • Process Optimization: A demonstrated ability to critically evaluate, streamline, and automate financial and administrative processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and control.
