This is a temporary, time-sensitive consultancy position requiring a hands-on professional who can immediately take charge of financial management, ensure compliance, and provide strong leadership in a sensitive operational environment — including management of financial matters related to a company under receivership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all financial operations, ensuring accuracy and accountability.
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, instilling financial discipline and transparency.
  • Prepare and approve payments, ensuring compliance with company policies and internal controls.
  • Address accounting backlogs, streamline records, and enhance reporting accuracy.
  • Coordinate with auditors and ensure proper documentation and audit readiness.
  • Maintain tax compliance across all statutory obligations (PAYE, VAT, Withholding, NHIF, NSSF, etc.).
  • Manage collections, bank reconciliations, and cash flow to sustain financial stability.
  • Provide financial leadership during restructuring, including advising management on risk, liquidity, and cost optimization.
  • Handle sensitive financial matters related to ongoing receivership activities with utmost confidentiality.
  • Develop and implement financial control systems and reporting procedures to ensure long-term stability.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Fully qualified CPA (K) – registration with ICPAK preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting and financial management experience, with at least part of that in a reputable audit or consultancy firm.
  • Strong background in audit, financial reporting, and compliance.
  • Experience working with organizations under restructuring or receivership is an added advantage.
  • Excellent command of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero) and advanced Excel proficiency.
