French Interpretation Services

  • As part of its mission, FAWE implements various programmes, hosts webinars, and convenes meetings that bring together diverse stakeholders, including policymakers, educators, development partners,
  • and beneficiaries from both Anglophone and Francophone countries.
  • To ensure effective communication and inclusivity in its engagements, FAWE seeks to engage a professional French-English interpreter to facilitate real-time interpretation during the monthly programmes and staff meetings, quarterly board and committee meetings, and other key events. This will enhance participation and comprehension among francophone stakeholders, fostering collaboration and engagement in FAWE’s initiatives.
  • The interpreter will be engaged monthly or as the need arises for a period of one year, with the possibility of an extension based on performance. This arrangement will enable FAWE to bridge language barriers and uphold its commitment to inclusivity, accessibility, and effective knowledge sharing across linguistic and cultural divides.

Qualifications and Experience

  • The consultant should meet the following criteria:
  • A professional qualification in interpretation or translation from a recognized institution.
  • Proven experience in providing interpretation services for international organizations, NGOs, or similar institutions.
  • Proficiency in both spoken and written French and English.
  • Strong understanding of education and development-related terminologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in virtual and in-person settings with diverse audiences.
