Job Description

The Aga Khan University is a private, autonomous university that promotes human welfare through research, teaching and community service initiatives. Responsibilities

The successful candidate will join a growing and dynamic department committed to advancing best practice in their discipline, expanding services that meet quality and patient service needs within an internationally accredited university hospital with outstanding diagnostic services. The successful candidate will develop their academic career in teaching and research. In education there is a focus on resident training and fellowship programmes training and planned introduction of undergraduate training.

Requirements

  • S/he must have Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery(M.B.Ch.B) or equivalent
  • S/he must be registered or eligible for registration with Kenya Medical Practitioners’ & Dentists Board
  • S/he should have at least four (4) years’ experience in cardiology; three of which may be during a recognized fellowship and one of which should be a post fellowship
  • S/he should have completed their fellowship in Cardiology or equivalent
  • S/he should demonstrate competency and dexterity with all equipment utilized in the hospital environment
  • S/he should demonstrate honesty, integrity, compassion and respect for diversity and applies ethical principles appropriately
  • S/he should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • S/he should conduct oneself in a professional manner and be a responsible team player
