Job Description

AAR hospital is a 140-bed Level 5 private referral hospital that boasts a symphony of healing spaces that rejuvenates the soul, Nestled adjacent to the lush green canopy of Karura Forest along Kiambu Road. The Outpatient Department deliberately separated from the Emergency Unit welcomes you the ambience and beauty synonymous with AAR Hospital.

General Ledger Accountant

 Job Purpose: 

To ensure accurate review and posting of financial transactions in the general ledger, inventory management and bank and cash reconciliations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Preparation of journal entries.
  • Ensure GL entries are recorded in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensure integrity of the general ledger by performing regular reviews and reconciliation of financial statements and management accounts
  • Inventory management including planning stock takes, inventory reporting and Inventory reconciliations.
  • Bank and cashbook reconciliations
  • Assist in preparing management reports and analyses to provide insights on the hospital’s financial performance
  • Assist in preparation of budgets and adhoc analysis
  • Support the management accountant in internal and external audits.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor of Commerce, Business Administration, or related degree with a major in Accounting.
  • Expert knowledge of accounting, auditing, financial and management reporting.
  • Computer literate and conversant with computerized accounting packages.

Professional Qualification

  • Professional qualifications such as Certified Public Accountants (CPA) K/ACCA or CFA.

Job Experience

  • Five (5) years progressive working experience in accounting
