Job Description

The Davis & Shirtliff Group is the leading supplier of water related equipment in the East African region. Founded in 1946, business activities are focused on six principal product sectors – Water Pumps, Boreholes, Swimming Pools, Water Treatment, Generators and Solar Equipment

Responsiblities

The successful candidate who will have demonstratable hands-on capability in both the mechanical and electrical aspects of generators will be required to primarily handle the following responsibilities:

  • Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of generators at client locations, provide technical support and conduct training for customers in the field and in workshops for the company’s range of generator products and applications.
  • Conduct site surveys, collect user requirements and submit reports to the service teams.
  • Seek equipment and spares sales leads and refer them to the Sales teams.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to identify and address potential issues with generators.
  • Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively with customers.
  • Track and document installed systems incidents & outages and initiate root cause analysis in liaison with Service Engineers.
  • Test the performance of and service company’s electromechanical products as necessary.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Holder of Diploma/HND with Credit in Electrical & Electronics / Mechatronics Engineering or closely related field from a recognized institution.
  • Technically skilled in installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of generators
  • Knowledge, exposure, and experience in Siemens/Schneider Electric PLC-HMI will be an added advantage.
  • Hands-on experience in configuration, installation, and commissioning of digital engineering systems – IoT/SCADA/BMS will also be an added advantage.

  • Good understanding of electrical and mechanical aspects of generators
  • Fast learner with demonstrated strong problem-solving skills and analytical capability.
  • Strong communication and cross-group collaboration skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize work.
