Job Description

Responsibiliities

This assignment seeks to quantify the impact of the past 3 drought cycles (2010-2011, 2016-2017, 2020-2022) in the last decade on the water availability and quality in Tana River County, to build on qualitative insights received from community focus group discussions, using satellite imagery and hydrometeorological data. Specifically, the online volunteer would be expected to:

  • Analyse available relevant satellite and hydrometeorological data from Tana River County for the last decade (2010-2022) and identify patterns and trends
  • Develop theories and hypotheses on the quantitative impact of the past 3 drought cycles on the water availability and quality in Tana River County based on the analyzed data
  • Visualise the results and communicate the findings in a report and/or slide deck

Requirements

Required experience

  • GIS data analysis and visualisation, research skills, communication and knowledge sharing

Languages : English, Level: Fluent, Required
