Job Description

Christian Blind Mission (CBM) Kenya is an independent Member Association of the CBM Family, registered under Kenyan law as an incorporated company limited by guarantee, having a Memorandum and Articles of Association with a membership, board and company secretary. The association submits an annual audit and company returns.

These are your responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for the global Human Resource Division, ensuring an approach/set up for a globally collaborating and acting HR-Community along the requirements of HR-Tasks on a robust and structured basis.
  • Overseeing and framing the development of HR policies/governance practice and HR operations, ensuring compliance and adherence to the strategy of CBM.
  • Provide empowering leadership and functional management guidance to the Global HR Business Partners, the Regional HR Managers (dotted line) and the HR Specialist for global standards (e.g. Global Governance, Learning, Compensation & Benefits, Internal Communication, Culture).
  • Identify and thrive for opportunities and innovations to simplify, clarify, and harmonize HR frameworks, standards, processes, and workflows, including through the use of contemporary HR Systems and Tools.
  • Drive and implement change effectively.

These are your qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resource Management or equivalent
  • In depth knowledge and experience of HR, preferably with experiences in a multinational corporation or NGO, respectively in intercultural acting organisations.
  • Experience in operational HR management with a focus on a solution and outcome driven design of the HR-Work (processes, policies), preferably in environments of Change and Transformation.
  • Experience in operating personnel systems and ambition to drive a modern digital data set up.
  • Very good knowledge of human nature and providing a drive for emotional leadership awareness.
  • Independent, agile, and flexible working style, “hands-on” mentality based on structured working methods.
  • Showing a distinct attitude to enhance the own area of responsibility and to deliver results and impact.
  • Fluent English is required. Proficient-Level German, French and/or other language skills is a plus.
  • Commitment to our Christian values and the mandate of the CBM
