Grantee Capacity Building on Governance & Leadership and Resource Mobilization Facilitator

Objectives of the Workshop.

To strengthen the leadership skills of the organization’s board members.

  • Adaptive leadership to changing environments.
  • Inclusive leadership that values diverse voices & perspectives.
  • Ethical & transparent leadership.
  • Creation of long-term visions and setting achievable organizational goals.
  • Establishment of clear roles and responsibilities for board members.
  • Conflict resolution and effective communication.
  • Safeguarding at the oversight management level.

To enhance knowledge and understanding of program teams on resource mobilization and partner (donor) engagement.

  • Overview of resource mobilization concepts and importance.
  • Practical illustration of mapping out potential partnership and funding opportunities.
  • Introduction to practical and relevant strategies for securing grants/funding.
  • Enhance compelling proposal writing skills and creation of project budgets and logical frameworks
  • Strengthen negotiation and networking skills
  • Donor/Partner relationship management.
  • Organizational communication and fundraising techniques.

To Co-develop resource mobilization strategies.

  • Train participants to develop practical resource mobilization plans.
  • Align resource mobilization efforts with organizational thematic areas.
  • Co-develop a standard resource mobilization plan template for MEAL.

The facilitator will be responsible for the following;

  • Working with COVAW to design a program for the four days.
  • Preparing workshop training materials and content.
  • Delivering the training for the four days.
  • Preparing the workshop report at the end of the training.

COVAW will be responsible for the following;

  • Managing and supporting the facilitator throughout the process.
  • Reviewing & validating the training report.

Timeline & Venue:

This training is tentatively scheduled for 10th to 13th February 2025, at the Zebu Resorts and Hotel in Narok Town.
