Job Description

Jiji is the largest online marketplace with over 10 million visitors and 5 million active ads on our site. Our site has continuously gained trust among Kenyans enabling us to be the Mobile App of the Year | Shopping and E-commerce in Kenya. We are looking for an experienced and passionate Head of Field Sales who will be in charge of business strategy and growth of sales.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

The following are the duties you will be responsible for:

  • Develop, review, and report on the Offline Field Sales division’s strategy, ensuring the strategic objectives are well understood and executed by the team
  • Identify potential clients, and the decision-makers within various industries, research and build relationships with them.
  • Plan approaches and pitches. Work with the team to develop proposals that speak to the client’s needs, concerns, and objectives.
  • Prepare and update training material on Jiji products and services
  • Weekly training of offline sales agents, to ensure they have the right product knowledge before heading to the field
  • Ensure offline sales agents have corporate-branded merchandise at all times before proceeding to the field
  • Motivate, engage, and recognize field sales agents to ensure they are fully engaged in their jobs
  • Use the CRM system to review and monitor team sales performance and identify areas to improve and create performance metrics for team members
  • Prepare weekly reports of field sales agents’ performance and ensure team are paid commissions on time

 

REQUIREMENTS 

We believe that you will succeed better if you possess the following:

  • 3-5 years of experience in managing a commission sales team of 50-100 people is a MUST.
  • Experience working as a unit manager in a reputable insurance firm or an area sales manager within the financial institution or FMCG sector preferred.
  • Experience in automating operations processes is a plus.
  • A degree in Economics or STEM is an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of the use of Excel and Google Sheets required.
