About the Client:

Our client is a leading innovative construction solutions provider in East Africa who has a proven track record of performance driven by solid knowledge and experience in the construction industry and is seeking to recruit Head of finance will oversee all financial aspects of the company and drive the company’s financial strategy and planning. They will be responsible for assessing the financial performance of the company and designing financial strategies that support the company’s goals. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, extensive experience in financial management, and a proven track record in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Kenya (CPAK) qualification is mandatory.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in finance management.
• Proficiency with SAP system –At least level Business 1
• Proven experience in a manufacturing environment is essential.
• Conversant with reporting to the board/ Management team

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Develop and implement the company’s financial strategy to ensure alignment with business goals.
• Lead the budgeting process and ensure accurate and timely financial forecasting.
• Prepare and present financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements to the executive team and board of directors.
• Monitor and manage the company’s cost structures and identify areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
• Identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies to protect the company’s financial health.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards, including tax regulations, auditing requirements, and financial reporting standards.
• Oversee investment activities, manage asset portfolios, and provide recommendations on investment opportunities.
• Ensure effective cash flow management to meet operational and capital expenditure requirements.
• Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of high performance, continuous learning, and development.
• Act as the main point of contact for financial matters with external stakeholders, including investors, banks, and auditors.
• Conduct in-depth financial analysis to support strategic decision-making and identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
• Evaluate potential mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic financial opportunities.
• Oversee the implementation and maintenance of financial systems and software to ensure data integrity and efficiency.
• Lead and participate in special projects and initiatives as required by the executive team.
