Job Description

Pesapal provides a simple, safe and secure way for individuals and businesses to make and accept payments in Africa. Pesapal payments work on the internet and directly on the handset.

Summary

We are looking for a Head of Human Resources to lead our HR function and support our fintech business in achieving its strategic goals. You will be responsible for developing and implementing HR policies, systems, and processes that align with our vision, mission, and values. You will also oversee all aspects of HR operations, such as talent acquisition, talent management, performance management, compensation and benefits, learning and development, employee engagement, and employee relations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the HR strategy and plan that supports the business objectives and growth of the organization.
  • Manage and mentor a team of HR professionals, providing guidance, feedback, and training on HR best practices and standards.
  • Partner with senior management and business leaders to understand their needs and challenges and provide effective HR solutions and advice.
  • Design and implement talent acquisition strategies and programs that attract, select, and retain high-quality talent for the organization.
  • Establish and maintain a performance management system that drives employee performance, development, and recognition.
  • Develop and administer compensation and benefits plans that are competitive, fair, and compliant with legal requirements.
  • Create and deliver learning and development initiatives that enhance the employees’ skills, knowledge, and capabilities.
  • Foster a positive and engaging work culture that promotes employee satisfaction, retention, and productivity.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant labor laws and regulations and handle employee grievances and disputes promptly and professionally.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related fields.
  • At least 6 years of experience in human resources management, preferably in the technology or financial services industry.
  • Proven track record of leading HR teams and projects in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Strong knowledge of HR principles, practices, trends, and technologies.
  • Proficient in using various HR software tools and platforms, such as payroll, applicant tracking, performance management, etc.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
