Logistics Optimization and Coordination

• Develop and implement strategies for Air and Ocean logistics, including routing, scheduling, and transport modes.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless coordination of logistics activities, transport procurement, and distribution.

Financial Oversight and Cost Management

• Monitor costs, KPIs, and industry trends to identify savings and ensure financial efficiency.
• Assume responsibility for the financial performance of operations and present alternative approaches to enhance profitability.

Team Leadership and People Management

• Lead and mentor teams, ensuring high service levels, professional development, and adherence to HR policies.
• Recruit, train, and motivate staff while fostering engagement and conducting performance reviews.

Strategy Execution and Business Development

• Execute corridor and Ocean Freight strategies, aligning with market leadership goals and CEVA’s integrated logistics offerings.
• Engage with business development teams to drive growth, support large accounts, and align on market requirements.

Compliance, Continuous Improvement, and IT Integration

• Ensure regulatory compliance, health and safety adherence, and accurate documentation.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, optimize technology, and provide input on IT strategies to enhance operational efficiency.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree or MBA preferred).
• Over 10 years of experience in logistics or supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven expertise in managing Air and Ocean logistics operations, transport procurement, and cross-border activities in East Africa.
• Strong track record in financial oversight, cost optimization, and driving operational profitability.
• Demonstrated success in leading and developing diverse, high-performing teams and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
• In-depth knowledge of customs regulations, compliance standards, and health and safety requirements in East Africa.
• Professional certifications are an added advantage.
