Job Description

For Kenya to achieve Vision 2030 and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and be more globally competitive, there is an urgent need to develop a skilled, productive and flexible labour force by creating, applying, and spreading new ideas and technologies that are currently missing in the country. Mama Ngina University College (MNUC) is envisioned to bridge the current gaps in the universities by offering programs that are currently needed to contribute to the fast development of the country and adopt teaching and learning methods that are student-centred. The University College emphasises hands-on training for skills development and academic excellence. Mama Ngina University College is a constituent college of Kenyatta University but was initially under the mentorship of Moi University.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (K.C.S.E) minimum mean grade of C+ or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
  • Bachelor’s degree in Counselling Psychology, Sociology, Education, Youth and Community work or equivalent Social Science from an accredited and recognized University;
  • Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology, Sociology, Education, Youth and Community work or equivalent from an accredited and recognized University.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years working experience in an institution of higher learning or equivalent;
  • Five(5) years’ progressive experience in student affairs, community engagement, or related areas in an institutions of higher learning ;
  • Strong understanding of student development theories, diversity and inclusion principles, and best practices in higher education;
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills;
  • Proven ability to foster collaborations and partnerships ;
  • Demonstrate knowledge and experience in implementing GOK Performance Contract;
  • Experience in managing teams, budgets, and resources effectively;
  • Have knowledge, skills and certification process on ISO 9001:2015 standards;
  • Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.
