Summary

We are looking for a passionate and talented Head of People and Talent to join us! As a Head of Talent, you will be instrumental in AMI’s talent growth and strategy in all areas of Recruitment, Organisational Design, Retention, Reward, Employee Relations, and Employee Engagement and be a champion of the AMI culture.

You will be part of the Talent team & provide guidance and advice to line managers on HR policies, procedures and processes.

Responsibilities:

Head of Talent and Acquisition Leadership

  • Lead AMI’s talent selection, recruitment, and onboarding processes for staff.
  • Develop and implement sustainable talent acquisition and hiring strategies.
  • Establish and nurture strategic referral networks and talent pipelines.
  • Conduct comprehensive workforce planning, sourcing, screening, assessing, and guiding selection processes to meet staffing needs within defined timelines and cost-effective parameters.
  • Analyze ongoing talent requirements and provide forecasts for employee recruitment in different countries.

Training and Development Oversight

  • Oversee the enhancement of our performance management process across AMI.
  • Conduct organization-wide training needs assessments and contribute to the development of an internal learning and development framework.

Employee Relations and Culture Management

  • Facilitate the development and implementation of documented talent and culture standard operating procedures.
    Regularly review and update talent and culture policies and procedures to ensure compliance and relevance.
  • Ensure proper storage and maintenance of talent records.
  • Provide guidance and support for all talent performance-related matters.
  • Propose and lead Culture Initiatives to enhance cohesion throughout the company.
  • Conduct candidate and employee satisfaction surveys and address emerging issues.
  • Develop and implement procedures to enhance the employee experience and recommend measures for improving employee retention.
  • Foster a positive working environment, empower, and motivate departmental team members, ensuring efficient execution of responsibilities.

Management of Employee Benefits

  • Oversee staff compensation and benefits schemes, including payroll, medical, pension, and other welfare activities.
  • Manage leave administration and regularly analyze leave records to ensure compliance with all relevant legislation.
  • Ensure legal compliance in all aspects of talent management across AMI offices in the region.

Qualifications & experience

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in a Human Resources-focused role (required)
  • Experience in both large corporations and rapidly growing companies is advantageous.
  • Extensive experience in managing people and culture aspects within organizations.
  • Additional advantage if you have worked in an organization with geographically dispersed teams in Africa.
  • Proficiency in organizing team-building activities and culture initiatives to strengthen the team.
  • Experience working in an entrepreneurial or high-growth environment (required)
  • Possession of a postgraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • ​Human Resource certification is mandatory.
