Job Description

Pembroke House is a unique British boarding school in the heart of Kenya. We are a small, multicultural school of around 200 pupils, and cater for boys and girls aged 2 – 13 years. We have a 90 year history of private education in East Africa, and our focus is on developing well-rounded, happy, independent, polite and confident pupils.

Headteacher

The Role

We are looking to appoint a Headteacher who will:

  • Build on Pembroke House’s long‑established reputation for academic ambition, pastoral excellence and all‑round education.
  • Lead with clarity, warmth and purpose, inspiring pupils and staff alike.
  • Champion the school’s boarding ethos and vibrant extra‑curricular life, ensuring that every child is known, challenged and supported.
  • Strengthen the school’s strategic direction in partnership with the Pembroke House Council (the Board of Governors).
  • Uphold and model the school’s values of curiosity, courage, spirit of adventure, compassion, resilience and integrity – qualities fostered through the unique Pembroke experience. We welcome applications from current Heads as well as senior leaders seeking their first headship.
