Health Records Officer

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Health Records & Information Management Officer to join our healthcare team in Nanyuki. The role involves accurate management of patient health records, support of clinical documentation, and contribution to healthcare reporting, claims processing, and data verification in line with Social Health Authority (SHA) requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain accurate patient health records (Both manual and electronic systems)
  • Ensure proper documentation, filing and retrieval of medical records
  • Handle Social Health Authority(SHA) claim processing, verification and reconciliation
  • Liaise with clinical and administrative staff to ensure completeness of patient data.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection and confidentiality standards.
  • Prepare periodic reports on records and SHA claims status
  • Assist in audits related to health records and insurance claims.
  • Familiarity with ICD 11 (International Classification of Disease)

Requirements

  • Diploma / Degree in Health Records and Information Management or related field.
  • MUST be registered with the relevant professional body.
  • A minimum of 3 years proven experience working in a busy healthcare setting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in handling Social Health Authority (SHA)
  • Proficiency in health information systems and MS Office applications.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • High level of Integrity and confidentiality.
