Job Description

Kenchic Limited is the leading producer of poultry in East and Central Africa. At its inception, the company’s main activity was the production of broiler and layer day-old chicks. Over the years the company has expanded operations to include processed chicken and further processed products. The company started its operations in 1984. The company’s Head Office is in Exsan House along Enterprise road. Kenchic is proud to be the largest integrated poultry operation in East and Central Africa and deals in day-old chicks, processed chicken meat and further processed products such as smoked sausages, choma sausages & sausages.

About Role

The job holder will be responsible for assisting with HR functions like recruitment processes, maintaining employee records, handling administrative tasks like scheduling interviews and managing paperwork, assisting with employee onboarding and offboarding processes, and supporting HRBP with various projects.

Description of essential Responsibilities:

  • Provide quality HR administration support to processes across the employee life cycle
  • Coordinate staff recruitment and selection process in order to ensure timely recruitment is done as per staff requisition.
  • Organize both internal and external training in conjunction with department heads.
  • Regularly update of manpower database; keep track of end-of- probation assessments, end of contracts dates, terminated employees, and new employees.
  • Assist in the handling of disciplinary and grievance procedures.
  • Prepare general HR correspondences, resignation acceptance letters, terminations-employment medical examinations among others
  • Ensure timely renewal of employment contracts by liaising with line managers, or their designates and sending them assessment forms a month before the due date.
  • Ensure that HR information and data systems are maintained, ensuring data is accurately stored, maintained and entered into the HR database in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ensure statutory compliance with the regulatory requirements and internal policies and procedures.

We are looking for someone who has.

  • Degree in Human Resources or Certified Human resources Professional
  • Degree in Human Resources or relevant field is an added advantage.
  • Minimum two (2) years of relevant HR working experience manufacturing an added advantage.
  • Member of the Institute of Human Resources Management (IHRM).
  • Possess basic working knowledge of the labour laws.
