Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced HR Supervisor to join our team. The HR Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the HR functions related to both permanent and casual workers within the company. This role involves managing employee relations, ensuring compliance with labour laws, and supporting recruitment, onboarding, and performance management processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervision and Management:

  • Supervise HR activities for both permanent and casual workers, ensuring that HR policies and procedures are consistently applied.
  • Provide guidance and support to line managers and supervisors on HR-related issues.
  • Monitor attendance, punctuality, and adherence to company policies.

Recruitment and Onboarding:

  • Assist in the recruitment process by coordinating interviews, conducting reference checks, and preparing employment contracts.
  • Oversee the onboarding process for new employees, ensuring they receive proper orientation and training.
  • Manage the hiring and onboarding of casual workers, ensuring compliance with company standards.
  • Maintain a database of casual workers with varying expertise to ensure work flow is not interrupted.

Employee Relations:

  • Act as the first point of contact for employee queries and concerns, providing support and resolving issues promptly.
  • Facilitate communication between management and employees to maintain a positive work environment.
  • Handle disciplinary procedures, grievances, and conflict resolution in accordance with company policy and labour laws.

Payroll and Benefits Administration:

  • Assist in the preparation and processing of payroll for both permanent and casual workers.
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of shift schedules and attendance records.

Performance Management:

  • Support the implementation of performance management processes, including appraisals and evaluations.
  • Monitor employee performance and provide feedback to improve productivity and efficiency.

Compliance and Reporting:

  • Ensure compliance with all labour laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Maintain up-to-date employee records, including contracts, personal information, and training certifications.
  • Prepare and submit HR reports to management as required.

Health and Safety:

  • Promote a safe work environment by supporting health and safety initiatives and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with the safety officer to address workplace safety concerns and incidents.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an HR role, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Experience supervising both permanent and casual workers.
  • Strong knowledge of labour laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Working Conditions:

  • This role may require travel to various construction sites.
  • Ability to work in both office and field environments
