HR Business Partner / LOA Specialist

About the Role

  • The Leave of Absence (LOA) Specialist is responsible for managing employee leave cases across multiple U.S. states, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations while providing exceptional support to employees, managers, and HR teams throughout the leave process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate all types of leave cases, ensuring compliance with FMLA, state leave laws, and company policies.
  • Determine leave eligibility, review medical certifications, and administer leave programs within required timelines.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employees, managers, and HR regarding leave-related inquiries.
  • Guide employees and leadership through the leave of absence process, explaining policies and procedures clearly.
  • Prepare and distribute required leave documentation, including notices, certifications, forms, and correspondence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3–5 years of HR experience, preferably in Leave of Absence (LOA) administration.
  • Experience in related fields such as Disability Management, Benefits, Workers’ Compensation, Healthcare, Medical Billing, Payroll, Safety, or Customer Service will also be considered.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) and HRIS systems.
