HR Intern

On behalf of our client, a leading poultry production company, we are seeking to recruit a highly proactive, energetic, and detail-oriented Human Resource Intern based in Thika. The successful candidate will support day-to-day HR operations while gaining practical experience in recruitment, employee records management, onboarding, and general HR administration.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in sourcing, screening, and scheduling candidates for interviews.
  • Support employee onboarding and induction processes.
  • Maintain and update employee records and HR databases.
  • Assist in attendance tracking and leave management.
  • Prepare HR documents, reports, and correspondence.
  • Support payroll data collection and verification processes.
  • Coordinate staff training and development activities.
  • Ensure proper filing and organization of employee documentation.
  • Assist in implementing HR policies and procedures.
  • Handle employee inquiries and provide administrative support to the HR department.
  • Support employee engagement and welfare initiatives.
  • Perform any other HR-related duties assigned by management.

Skills & Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Recent graduate or currently awaiting graduation.
  • Knowledge of Kenyan labour laws and HR practices will be an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and administrative abilities.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
  • Must be highly proactive, self-driven, and eager to learn.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Must be based in or willing to work in Thika.
