HR Officer

The HR Officer will be responsible for developing and managing all aspects of the human resources function. This includes recruitment, onboarding, performance management, training and development, employee relations, and compliance. The HR Officer will play a key role in building a culture of collaboration, accountability, and growth as the company scales operations locally and regionally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies, manage end-to-end hiring processes, and oversee seamless onboarding.
  • Foster collaboration, accountability, and innovation through surveys, team-building, and workshops.
  • Implement performance management systems, conduct reviews, and develop training programs aligned with career growth.
  • Identify skill gaps, upskill employees, and ensure compliance with Kenyan labour laws and statutory deductions.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, benefits, and contracts using platforms like SenseHR.
  • Create HR policies and handbooks in line with industry best practices and conduct market benchmarking for competitive compensation.
  • Oversee payroll, benefits, and wellness programs, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Develop HR strategies for workforce and succession planning, while advising leadership on talent retention.
  • Drive diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives to align with company values.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (required).
  • Professional HR certification (e.g., CHRP, SHRM, CIPD) is highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of HR management experience, preferably in a growth-stage company.
  • Experience with HR platforms and tools, including SenseHR or similar systems, is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of Kenyan labour laws and statutory requirements.
