Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities    

  • Support the HR Manager in rolling out of HR projects and initiatives for the country
  • Effectively preside in disciplinary, grievance and performance hearing matters
  • Maintain accurate disciplinary processes and records with effective calendar / diary entries
  • Display a comprehensive understanding of labour legislation and ensure compliance
  • Provide guidance and training to Supervisors on Industrial Relations related processes
  • Maintain and manage appropriate Industrial Relations environment
  • Custodian of all HR/IR policies and procedures
  • Monitor compliance to all Industrial Relations and Human Resource related policies and processes
  • Monitor and facilitate (where applicable) appeal/grievance hearings and or processes
  • Handle employee queries
  • Participate in development initiatives to build capability within the country
  • Assist as and when required in filling of vacant positions and talent management initiatives
  • Ensure efficient and cost-effective methodologies are used for resourcing employees
  • Insist timely processing of payroll to ensure all employees are paid on time, correctly and attend to any pay queries.
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time

Requirements

Skills and Competencies    

  • Planning, Organizing and Project management skills to compile reports on statistics and trends
  • Sense of accountability and delivering on sound communication feedback
  • Ability to interact within a diverse cultural environment
  • Excellent Interpersonal skills and ability to communicate at all levels
  • Client service orientated
  • People orientated with good level of commitment, motivation and initiative
  • Be very conversant with the implementation employment Act

Qualifications    

  • Higher Diploma or Degree in Human Resource Management or Relevant Qualification
  • +3 years experience experience as an HR Generalist in a fast paced and labour-intensive sector or environment
  • Knowledge and experience in the services industry an added advantage
  • Knowledge of Time & Attendance Systems an added advantage
  • Experience working with HRIMS an added advantage
  • Member of the HRIM an added advantage
