Job Description

Kenya Plant Health Inspectorate Service (KEPHIS) is the government parastatal whose responsibility is to assure the quality of agricultural inputs and produce to prevent adverse impact on the economy, the environment and human health.

Duties and responsibilities: – 

  • Assisting in Drafting and verification of routine correspondences;
  • Assisting in Processing payroll;
  • Assisting in Collating and analysing training applications;
  • Assisting in Processing employee recruitment, promotion and exit documents;
  • Assisting in processing of leave applications, sick sheets and sick offs;
  • Updating of Staff Medical details, National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) and National Social Security Fund (NSSF) records;
  • Maintaining complement control;
  • Carrying out leave administration;
  • Updating human resource database; and
  • Analysing data on work environment and employees’ satisfaction surveys.

Persons Specification 

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: –

  • Degree in Social Sciences/Human Resource Management/Business Administration or other relevant course from a university recognized in Kenya;
  • CHRP II or an equivalent relevant qualification from an institution recognized in Kenya;
  • Membership in a relevant professional body in good standing;
  • Meets the provisions of the Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya.

  • Proficiency in computer applications;
  • Communication Skills;
  • Analytical Skills;
  • Keen to details.

Competencies

  • Knowledge of Human Resource Management systems.
  • Knowledge of national labour laws.
  • Ability to work under pressure;
  • Ability to work independently and in a team;

  • Demonstrated results in work performance;
  • Demonstrated ability to implement Quality Management Systems;
  • A track-record of excellent time management skills.
