Job Description

AAR hospital is a 140-bed Level 5 private referral hospital that boasts a symphony of healing spaces that rejuvenates the soul, Nestled adjacent to the lush green canopy of Karura Forest along Kiambu Road. The Outpatient Department deliberately separated from the Emergency Unit welcomes you the ambience and beauty synonymous with AAR Hospital. This unit serves all non-urgent walk-in patients in need of care by a General Practitioner or a Specialist Doctor in any of our 20 Specialist Clinics. The Emergency Unit serves those in critical condition in need of immediate and specialized care. You can access 24 hours dialysis services and critical care consists of a fully equipped intensive care unit (ICU) with 12 beds supported by a 9-bed high dependency unit (HDU) and a 5 cot neo-natal unit (NICU).

JOB PURPOSE:

The HR Officer is responsible for providing comprehensive HR support in the areas of payroll processing, benefits administration, compliance, and employee lifecycle management. This role involves maintaining accurate employee records, managing staff benefits, and assisting with recruitment and staff separation processes. The HR Associate ensures that HR operations are efficient and compliant with legal and regulatory requirements, including OSHA standards.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Recruitment and Talent Acquisition Support:

  • Assist with job postings, candidate screening, and interview scheduling.
  • Ensure timely communication with candidates and assist in managing the recruitment pipeline.

Payroll Processing and Benefits Administration:

  • Assist with the end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and timely payments for all employees.
  • Manage employee benefits, including health insurance, pension, group life insurance, and other staff benefits.
  • Serve as the point of contact for employee benefit queries and resolve issues related to benefits administration.
  • Ensure accurate and timely updates to payroll systems, including salary changes, benefits adjustments, and tax withholdings.
  • Ensure compliance with local labor laws and financial regulations, coordinating with external agencies when necessary.

Onboarding and Offboarding:

  • Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, including conducting orientations and preparing necessary paperwork.
  • Ensure all new employee documentation is completed and maintained in compliance with company policies.
  • Manage the offboarding process, including conducting exit interviews and coordinating final paperwork.

HR Administration:

  • Maintain and update employee records, including personal information, benefits enrollment, and job changes.
  • Prepare HR documents, such as employment contracts, offer letters, and termination forms.
  • Assist in processing employee changes such as promotions, transfers, and salary adjustments.

Leave Management:

  • Manage the leave application process, ensuring accurate tracking of annual leave, sick leave, maternity/paternity leave, and other types of employee leave.
  • Maintain and update leave records in HR systems, providing regular reports to management on leave balances and usage trends.
  • Ensure compliance with company leave policies and legal requirements.

Employee Relations and Engagement:

  • Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries, providing assistance on HR policies and procedures.
  • Support HR initiatives related to employee engagement, recognition programs, and company events.
  • Assist in organizing employee engagement activities to promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture.

Compliance and Policy Adherence:

  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and internal policies by assisting in audits and maintaining accurate records.
  • Support the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures to ensure a fair and consistent workplace.
  • Assist in coordinating employee compliance training, such as workplace safety.

REQUIREMENTS

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resource management, or a related field
  • Professional qualifications such as Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management or Certified Human Resource Professional of Kenya CHRP(K)
  • Minimum of 3 years in Human Resources or equivalent.
  • Valid membership and practicing license with the IHRM.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
