Information Communication Technology (ICT) Manager

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Chief Principal, the ICT Manager will oversee the polytechnic’s technology network infrastructure and digital strategy. The ideal candidate will ensure efficient ERP operations, mitigate against cyber security issues, drive digital transformation, and ensuring adherence to established ICT standards and other statutory requirements.

Job Description:

  • Manage IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, and security systems.
  • Develop and implement IT strategies and policies.
  • Oversee IT support services.
  • Evaluate systems and ensure they comply with established ICT security standards and requirements;
  • Conduct regular network and security audits.
  • Prepare budget and work plan for the Department;
  • Manage Systems development and implementation process.
  • Train staff on IT best practices and emerging technologies.
  • Provide technical support and strategic guidance for ODeL initiatives, ensuring seamless integration of ICT solutions to enhance virtual learning environment.

Job Specifications:

  • Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Communication Technology, or an equivalent qualification in an ICT-related discipline from a recognized institution.
  • A Master’s Degree in the above-mentioned fields of study from a recognized institution will be an added advantage.
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate I, Il, and III (CCNA), Computer maintenance and repair, programming certification will be an added advantage;
  • Knowledge and Experience working with ABNO ERP systems is highly desirable;
  • Knowledge of network administration, cybersecurity, and cloud computing;
  • Excellent problem-solving and leadership skills;
  • Should be a team player; and
  • At least five (5) years of experience in IT Management or an equivalent position, preferably in an educational institution, with demonstrated outstanding professional competence.

  • Leadership and Management – Strong leadership skills to manage and guide the ICT team, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Technical Expertise -In-depth knowledge of ICT systems, including hardware, software, networking, and security protocols.
  • Project Management – Ability to plan, execute, and oversee ICT projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Problem-Solving Skills -Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address technical issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Communication Skills – Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with stakeholders, provide user support, and document processes.
  • Strategic Planning – Capability to develop and implement ICT strategies that align with the polytechnic’s goals and objectives.
  • Budget Management -Experience in managing ICT budgets, including cost control and resource allocation.
  • Compliance and Security – Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards, and implementing robust security measures to protect data and systems.
  • Continuous Improvement – Commitment to staying updated with the latest ICT trends and technologies, and continuously improving ICT systems and processes.
