Job Description

Summary

Reporting to Manager, Interline & Tariffs, theideal candidate will be required to proactively negotiate SPA agreements, supportthe sales organization through handling of fare decision queries, distributeall Public/Private/Web/ZED based fares and Taxes in all markets to maximizerevenue.

Responsibilities 

  • Negotiate, prepare, control and coordinate MITA-Multilateral Interline Traffic Agreements and BITA-Bilateral Interline Traffic Agreements with strategic airlines for KQ’s interline ability.
  • Initiate, plan and negotiate Special Prorate Agreements (SPA) and Code Share Agreements with other carriers to boost KQ revenue for offline sectors.
  • Identify, initiate and negotiate staff travel agreements. ZED/MIBA-Multilateral Interline Business Agreements, ZED-Zonal Employee Discount. Thus, creating a seamless wider cost-effective staff travel arrangements.
  • Prepare, coordinate and action the filing anddistribution of the following: –
  • All KQ approved fares and related fare rules with ATPCO to ensure fares are available in all distribution channels and that they conform to all regulations and Government requirements of the different markets.
  • Optional services e.g. baggage services, seats services etc.
  • Asante miles accruals and redemptions.
  • Carrier imposed surcharges (YR/YQ) and other taxes to ensure strategic/timely revenue collection for both KQ and the Government.
  • Both chart 1 & 2 RBD (Reservations Booking Designators) depending on concurrence agreements
  • Voluntary Re-issues and Refunds (under ATPCO category 31 and 33 respectively) to ensure ticket reissue process and refunds is automated to accord KQ the ability to calculate the proper add/collect/refund each time a passenger requests a change to his itinerary.
  • All KQ web-based fares to ensure they are available on KQ.COM and/or NDC portal ensuring the fares conform to the Fare Family and short rule description.
  • KQ routing maps to ensure proper fare quotation in achieving sales targets.
  • Coordinate Maintain and Administer IATA airlines and Agency relationships with KQ to ensure policies are developed and enforced that protect KQ’s interest revenue.
  • Initiate TPM-ticketed point mileages creations with IATA to all newly introduced KQ routes.
  • Initiate and Source KQ’s own offices/GSAs IATA codes
  • Coordinate and disseminate information on IATA and/or KQ Commercial related Policies to the entire KQ network through Tariff Notices

Job Requirements        

  • University degree in Business related subject with 3 years airline experience preferably in Revenue Management, Sales & Ticketing or Finance (revenue accounting). OR
  • Diploma in business related field with at least 5 years sales & ticketing experience.
  • Working knowledge in fares construction, sales, and ticketing.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft excel.
  • Excellent knowledge of Kenya Airways products.
  • Proficiency in proration is an added advantage.
