Job Description

World Vision is an international Christian relief, development and advocacy organisation working in almost 100 countries world-wide to create lasting change in the lives of children, families and communities to overcome poverty and injustice

Key Responsibilities:

The intern will work closely with the staff in the department while being exposed to the following areas to develop their skills: –

  • Track donor engagement channels to identify quality leads for conversion.
  • Follow up on donor leads to convert into donations.
  • Support in keeping donors informed and engaged for retention and repeat donations through sharing updates, reporting on progress and success of funded projects, acknowledging donors for their giving, addressing any concerns, sharing feedback and resolving any donor related issued.
  • Gathering of content for donor engagement including story writing, compiling of short fundraising/promotional messages (may include video and photography)
  • Preparation and posting of campaign messages, impact stories, and key highlights on IAF website and WVK social media channels
  • Support in the management of Inuka Angaza Fund donor database, tracking donations, following up on birthday pledges.
  • Support in planning and executing fund raising events including, Global6K, project launch events, exhibitions among others.
  • Coordinate registration of donors for fundraising events, as well as follow up actions with the donors after the events

Eligibility Criteria

​Those eligible to apply for graduate internship programme shall be Kenyan citizens who meet the following criteria.

  • Bachelor’s degree graduates who either are beneficiaries of child sponsorship or have experienced the impact of WV’s community development in their homes will be given priority.
  • Graduates who show genuine desire and ability to serve among the poor in rural and semi urban areas of Kenya.
  • Graduates who are practicing Christians regardless of denomination, gender and ethnic background.
  • Graduates with demonstrated good character, honesty, high competency and generally in good physical and emotional health.
  • Graduates who are willing to commit their time on the project for the entire year.
  • Graduates who have completed studies in bachelor’s degree in communications, Public Relations, Marketing or in any related or transferrable field of study within the last 1 (one) year.
