Job Description

Talanta institute is a Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Centre. Our training focuses on whole youth development with an aim to produce market relevant graduates through emphasis on mentorship and training in practical, entrepreneurship, workplace and life skills. We seek to transform the society through education, practical skills training and nurturing talents. Through emphasis on practical skill training and market affiliation to get experience, we have managed to provide an experiential learning experience, which helps to bridge the gap that exists in the mismatch of the skills in trainees and the market requirement.

Overview

Whether one is excited about gathering news items, editing and presenting news for the mainstream media or through digital platforms, this program exposes students to the entire process of identifying a news lead, following it, gathering information, processing editing, and presenting it. In a team-oriented and collaborative environment, students work on projects where they write, shoot, direct and edit programs, TV shows, interviews and news reports. This content forms part of their portfolios.

Course content

Journalists will expand their technical knowledge. They will learn all about the creative and technical aspects including:

  • Investigative Journalism
  • Photo Journalism
  • Media Convergence
  • Project Management
