Job Description

SUMMARY

This position has the overall responsibility to:

  • Support client management and consulting engagements through assignment life cycles to exceed client expectations and consulting firm’s objectives.
  • Support client projects by producing work that meets the brief, ensuring high quality output, accuracy, completion on time and budget adherence.
  • Conduct research, enumerate, report and present findings with relevance to client brief. Support origination of or oversee implementation of recommendations.

SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Junior Consultant is responsible and accountable for the following Core job elements:

  • Support accurate management of client records such as receipts, payments and disbursements.
  • Manage field-based operations in the distributive trade, field research, SFA implementation and convert data gathered into actionable insights.
  • Recruitment: Support job description preparation, post job opportunities, screen preliminary applications, coordinate candidate interviews and draft reports.
  • Prepare detailed project plans, monitor resource allocation, manage project schedules against milestones. Support consultants with research, data analysis and report preparation.
  • Ensure each assignment is delivered within scope and budget. Track project performance, prepare reports and keep all updated on the status of projects.
  • Support the search for new business opportunities, draft proposals and pitch processes.
  • Support third party staffing assignments by maintaining accurate and up-to-date employee records, supporting medical scheme plans, and managing leave.
  • Uphold own and client policies including integrity, anti-bribery, conflict of interest, code of conduct, IT guidelines and stated quality standards.

EDUCATIONAL AND COLLATERAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • An undergraduate business-related degree. An MBA from a leading university is a strong bonus.
  • Three or more years of experience in field-based consumer goods sales, with basic knowledge of SFA management, sales analytics, demonstrated 5P implementation, ROI-based results, and sales operations drivers.
  • Demonstrated experience handling confidential data and other information.
  • Proven numeracy with outstanding strategic, analytical thought processes and presentation skills.
  • Excellent experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Advanced Excel, SharePoint and PowerPoint.
  • Team player, autonomous self-starter, customer-centric, curious and innovative.
  • Understands complex, often ambiguous ideas, communicates concisely verbally and in writing.
