L.V Switchboard Costing & Estimation Engineer

Role Description

Tasked with converting client inquiries into responsive and cost-effective offers and designs. Involves ensuring that the proposals meet all technical requirements and align with client specifications. Through careful analysis and collaboration with other stakeholders, strive to craft solutions that balance client needs with cost efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Retrieve client inquiry details
  • Prepare general arrangement (GA) drawing, and if need be, discuss and agree on design with HOD.
  • Prepare costing and write-up and move quotation to technical approval folder for review and approval.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Department to review offers to client.
  • Revise offers to client on feedback from the Head of Department/BD team.
  • Write order acknowledgement and proforma invoice if order won.
  • Prepare and hand over detailed handover documents (Quotation and BOQ, Schematic and preliminary drawings and handover form) to the design team to prepare shop drawings.
  • Maintain workplace safety guidelines and regulations to ensure a risk-free work environment
  • QMS, EMS and OHSMS implementation.
  • Any other duty as may be assigned to you

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in costing & estimation, with a specialization in low voltage systems
  • Strong knowledge of electrical design principles and standards, including single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, schematics, and electrical codes
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or other computer-aided design software
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to draw solutions from complex electrical and mechanical issues
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining strict attention to detail
  • Experience with switchboard and control panel manufacturing processes and procedures
  • Familiarity with project management software
