We are currently recruiting for our client a leading Engineering Manufacturing Company;

Plant Supervisor Job Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Technical Manager, the roles and responsibilities for this position are: –

  • To supervise, plan, organize and control production operations according to the specified standards and laid down procedures.
  • Maintain optimum levels of input and output materials.
  • Ensure that production operations are carried out in a cost-effective manner and meeting the set quality standards.
  • In conjunction with Engineering Department promptly deal with machine breakdowns to ensure minimum downtime in the plant
  • Ensure interpretation and adherence of work procedures by the operators.
  • Ensure there is proper discipline among the workers and deal with any disciplinary issues arising in conjunction with the HR Department.
  • Take lead in production planning in regarding to appropriate manning levels, orders placed and availability of raw materials.
  • Advice on modification and improvements to increase productivity of both equipment and assigned personnel.
  • Compiling, filling and dissemination of all reports/data to the concerned persons.
  • Assist in identifying training needs of staff by collecting data on staff competencies and also carry out performance appraisal.
  • Ensure controlled and economical use of resources under your jurisdiction.
  • Ensure Autonomous Maintenance(AM) & Planned Maintenance(PM) is carried out according to schedule and laid down procedure.
  • Ensure and enforce usage of protective safety clothing in the plant.
  • Ensure that tool changes are done in a timely manner.
  • Ensure there is prompt sharing/dissemination of information to the concerned parties, including customers and suppliers.
  • Carry out any other duties assigned by your supervisor/ management from time to time.

Qualifications for the Plant Supervisor Job

  • Minimum of a Diploma in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Applied Chemistry, production engineering or any other relevant qualification from a recognized institution of higher learning.
  • Minimum Five (5) years’ experience in a supervisory role
  • Good working knowledge and understanding of factory processes & technology.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Highly developed leadership skills.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize workload in order to meet required deadlines
