Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach and examine students in their area of specialization both undergraduate and post graduate students.
  • Introduce and evaluate practical reports for courses with a practical component.
  • Participate in Clinical duties at Kisii Teaching and Refferral Hospital (University teaching hospital).
  • Engage in Research activities and community outreach.  Participate in curriculum development.
  • Engage in academic program assessment and reviews.  Fulfill any other duties as assigned from time to time by the respective Chair of department in the School of Health Sciences.

Requirements

Minimum Educational Qualifications and Professional Experience:

  • A relevant Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from a recognized University.
  • A Master’s degree or its equivalent in the relevant field from a recognized University/College is mandatory.
  • A PhD. in a relevant discipline will be an added advantage.
  • Previous teaching experience is preferred.
  • Must be registered by relevant professional body.
  • Must satisfy requirements of chapter 6 of the Kenyan Constitution.

  • Proficient in computer skills.
  • Selfmotivated and highly disciplined.
  • Possess excellent command of the subject area, including adept lesson planning.
  • Capable of managing ambiguity and emotions.
  • Adaptability to technological changes.
  • Excellent communication, listening, and mediation skills.
  • Strong in fundraising and grants writing abilities.
  • Demonstrates outstanding presentation and research writing skills
