Purpose:

To deliver high-quality instruction, engaging in innovative research, and contributing to the development of the medicine program.

Duties and Responsibilities: –

• Teach and assess courses in MBChB and post graduate programs;
• Supervise postgraduate students;
•  Initiate, promote and participate in research projects;
• Attend and actively participate in seminars, workshops and conference in relevant fields;
• Actively participate in planning, development, implementation and evaluation of curricula in the department;
• Attend and actively participate in departmental and School Board meetings and other activities;
• Promote innovative ways of teaching and delivery of pathology to learners;
• Conduct community service and initiate linkages;
• Any other official duties that may be assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Requirements for appointment: –

• An MBChB degree and MMed in Human Pathology or its equivalent from an accredited and recognized University. (A PhD. will be an added advantage); The Master’s degree shall have an equivalent in Fellowship Training recognized by the Medical Council of Kenya;
• At least three (3) years teaching experience at University level or in research or in industry;
• Must be registered to the relevant professional body and have a current valid Practising license (where applicable);
• Must have demonstrable proficiency in computer applications;

Job Specification: –

This is a University teaching/research position. Appointment is on Permanent and Pensionable terms.
