Purpose:

To deliver high-quality instruction, engaging in innovative research, and contributing to the development of the Public Health profession.

Duties and Responsibilities: –

• Teach and asses courses in Public Health to both undergraduate and post graduate students;
• Supervise postgraduate students;
• Initiate, promote and participate in research projects;
• Attend and participate in seminars, workshops and conference in relevant fields;
• Participate in planning, development, implementation and evaluation of curricula in the department;
• Participate in departmental and School Board meetings and other activities;
• Conduct community service and initiate linkages;
• Any other official duties that may be assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Requirements for appointment: –

• PhD in Environmental Health or Public Health Science from recognized institution;
• Hold Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Environmental Health or Public Health or their equivalent from an accredited and recognized University;
• At least three (3) years teaching experience at University level or in research or in industry;
• Must be a registered member of Public Health Officers and Technicians Council (PHOTEC);
• Proficiency in computer applications.

Job Specification: –

• This will be the entry grade for PhD degree holders into this cadre.

Candidates interested in the position are expected to fulfil requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya. In this regard, they must submit copies of the following: –

• Certificate of good conduct from Director, Criminal Investigations (DCI)
• Clearance certificate from Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
• Tax Compliance certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
• Clearance from the Ethics & Anti – Corruption Commission (EACC)
• Clearance from the Credit Reference Bureau
