Job Description

PalmPay is a next generation mobile wallet that empowers anyone with a smartphone to open a financial account, send money and make payments. Available on Android and iOS.

Job Purpose

As a Legal Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to oversee and facilitate the legal and compliance aspects of our operations, with a focus on Fintech-related matters. You will play a crucial role in drafting, reviewing, and managing various contracts, including NDA and Service Agreements, to ensure legal accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Working Scope

  • Draft and review various contracts, including but not limited to NDA, Service Agreement, etc.
  • Manage contracts in contract system.
  • Provide legal and compliance advice on Fintech-related matters, coordinate with legal team, compliance team and business team on various comments arising from the reviews.
  • Maintain and optimize legal and compliance review process and provide trainings to associates as necessary.
  • Follow up with changes in law and issue recommendations to ensure compliance.
  • Provide direct support to business team as needed for daily work.

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good language skill of English
  • Understand of legal language and principles, research methods.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work under high pace working environment independently and take ownership
  • Excellent interpersonal and client relationship skills.
  • Attention to detail and excellent proofreading skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of ethics and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and good judgment based on legal knowledge and business understanding
  • Demonstrate learning agility and quick adaption to changing environment

Qualifications

  • At least 1-2 years working experience as paralegal/legal assistant/legal specialist.
  • Tanzania bar license is required.
  • Graduates from a reputable law school is preferred.
