Job Description

Ramogi Institute of Advanced Technology (RIAT) was founded in 1968. It is one of Kenya’s pioneer Technical Training Institutes offering diploma courses in Automotive Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Social Work & Community Development, Catering and Housekeeping, Clothing & textiles among other courses. Many of these are geared toward self-employment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Competence in Selecting, developing, cataloguing and classifying library resources.
  • Ability to positively handle readers’ enquiries.
  • Cataloguing and recording of new publications in accordance with the established library system or procedures.
  • Keeping records of all incoming new books, pamphlets and periodicals.
  • Checking and filing of typed catalogues cards
  • Indexing and abstracting
  • Estimate of library expenditure and vote control.
  • Preparation of books binding.
  • Liaising with finance office on issues concerning lost books of trainees. On clearance.
  • Responsible for carrying out miscellaneous tasks.
  • Clearance of students
  • Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Requirement for Appointment.

  • Minimum of diploma in Information studies, Library Science or its equivalent
  • Knowledge in computer applications.
