Key Responsibilities

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities

Material Management:

  • Ensure timely receipt of aggregate materials from the quarry.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure sufficient materials are available for internal use.
  • Coordinate with the quarry team to forecast and plan material requirements.

Logistics and Delivery Planning:

  • Plan and manage the transportation of aggregates from Katani to the company headquarter site located in Nairobi.
  • Optimize delivery schedules to ensure timely supply while minimizing transportation costs.
  • Address any logistical challenges to ensure smooth operations.

Site Operations and Administration:

  • Oversee daily operations at the Katani site, ensuring efficiency and productivity.
  • Manage site administration, including documentation, reporting, and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Implement and maintain standard operating procedures for site operations.

Team Management:

  • Lead, supervise, and support the 50 employees at the Katani site.
  • Provide training, guidance, and performance evaluations to ensure a high-performing team.
  • Foster a positive work environment and address any employee concerns or conflicts.

Coordination and Communication:

  • Act as the primary liaison between the Katani site and other departments, including the quarry team and company headquarter site located in Nairobi.
  • Communicate regularly with senior management to provide updates on site operations and material status.
  • Collaborate with other managers to streamline processes and improve overall efficiency.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or site operations, preferably in the construction or materials industry.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
  • Proficiency in inventory management and logistics planning software.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in site management.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proactive and able to take initiative.
