Job Description

In 2013, a group of experienced and motivated risk management, strategy and development professionals came together to discuss the changing nature of peace building and the response of stabilization organizations in today’s complex and rapidly-changing frontier markets.

Summary

Valar is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Logistics and Procurement Assistant. This role will provide critical support to the Senior Logistics and Procurement Specialist in executing procurement activities, inventory management, and logistics within the company. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that products and services are acquired and delivered efficiently and in a timely manner, while maintaining quality standards and controlling costs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in sourcing suppliers, obtaining quotes, and procuring goods and services.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of products.
  • Manage and maintain Valar equipment list.
  • Prepare purchase orders, travel request forms and relevant documentation.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Logistics and Procurement Specialist to facilitate flight ticket bookings.
  • Coordinate travel logistics, including accommodation, ground transportation, and other related arrangements as directed by the Senior Logistics and Procurement Specialist.
  • Maintain and update the Valar Travel Calendar.
  • Stay updated on travel advisories, visa requirements, and any travel-related restrictions or regulations.
  • Manage monthly procurement of office supplies and groceries.
  • In charge of weekly credit card reconciliation.
  • Perform any other tasks as directed by the Senior Logistics and Procurement Specialist.

Qualifications

Minimum

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in procurement and logistics coordination is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Word).
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing procurement and logistics.
