Maintenance Technician

ABOUT YOU

The ideal candidate should be committed to following health, safety and environment guidelines, have a strong understanding of mechanical systems and technology and also have the ability to inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, repair and overhaul mechanical systems.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform all work in compliance with the Company’s HSE Policy, Rules, Standard Operating Procedures, Safe Work Instructions and Work Permits so as to ensure your own safety and that of others.
  • Ensure housekeeping in your working area is done and clean at the end of every shift
  • Attends breakdowns, investigates and traces and rectifies Faults.
  • Performs all maintenance Tasks in the section as be allocated.
  • Make proposals to modify or Improve Equipment for better performance or Safety improvements to the Supervisor.
  • Keep the Work area Clean.
  • Carry out Risk Assessment on all Tasks prior to execution.
  • Perform energy isolation prior to working on Equipment as per Procedure or as evaluated on the Risk Assessment.
  • Performs On Call duties as programmed.
  • Participates in all aspects of current Planning in Weekly or Shut downs.
  • Performs duties and Tasks according to Safety requirements and attends related safety Meetings.
  • Report to the Supervisor, when the Plant or Part of the Plant has to be stopped for Maintenance purposes.
  • Assists in Training of Apprentices and others when required.
  • Perform any other reasonable Task when requested by the Supervisor.
  • Perform plant inspection as and when instructed by the Supervisor and feedback, either verbal or written.
  • Ensure daily reports on work completion and handing over of equipment is done
  • Raising notifications
  • Supervise contractors working with the team

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  • Minimum Diploma or Degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • A minimum of three years’ experience in a similar role.
