Job Description

The Postal history in Kenya dates from the early years of the 17th century. A Portuguese governor was installed in Mombasa in 1592 and official correspondence between the town and the outside world has been recorded from 1610 onwards, carried by ship to Arabia and India and transmitted to Europe by the overland route

Job Purpose

The Manager of E-Commerce& Logistics is responsible for driving the digital transformation and growth of the corporation’s e-commerce services recognizing the increasing shift towards online transactions and the strategic importance of e-commerce in modern postal services. This role manages the transportation, storage, distribution, and delivery of goods purchased online, ensuring efficient and timely fulfillment of orders

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategies to enhance online retail presence, drive digital sales growth, and improve customer experience.
  • Supervise the overall operation and management of PCK warehouse facilities, ensuring seamless receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods.
  • Lead the order fulfillment process, including picking, packing, and shipping of customer orders, to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
  • Collaborate with logistics partners and carriers to manage transportation, shipping, and delivery schedules, optimizing cost and efficiency.
  • Utilize warehouse management systems, e-commerce platforms, and other technology tools to streamline operations and improve productivity.
  • Monitor product uploads and give quarterly performance reports.
  • Manage all online activities, website, social media and email campaigns to Courier products/services including e-services.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining e-Services/ products.
  • Manage and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to e-commerce sales, warehouse operations, and logistics to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
  • Manage, review, monitor and evaluate the performance of staff in the section against set targets.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the General Manager Courier and E-Services.

Requirements for Appointment

  • A minimum of twelve (12) years’ relevant work experience, five (5) of which in a managerial role;
  • Proven experience in e-commerce operations management and warehouse management;
  • Bachelors’ degree in Business Management, Sales and Marketing, Technology or any other relevant qualification from a recognized institution
  • Master’s degree in Business Management, Sales and Marketing, Technology or any other relevant qualification from a recognized institution
  • Certificate in Senior Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
  • Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of professional competence, managerial and administrative capability as reflected in work performance and results.
  • Fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution
