Job Purpose

Support the credit team in the implementing of credit policy and procedures by providing information required to aid in the decision-making process.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Timely circulation of all Daily, weekly, and monthly reports to all stakeholders.
  • Ensuring that the approved Impairment models are updated and used as stipulated by the statutory and group guidelines and correct level of provision is raised in line with regulatory requirements and the bank’s internal procedures.
  • Adhere to the requirements/guidelines of IFRS 9 in risk reporting.
  • Timely preparation of the governance reports including CRMC and BCC packs.
  • Provide analytical insight in the understanding and dynamics of the portfolio performance of the bank.
  • Ensure sufficient processes are in place to maintain data integrity and management
  • Ensure that monthly reporting is delivered accurately, timeously and provide business and portfolio risk insight with respect to reports produced.
  • Be proactive in managing the product portfolio from both risk and value perspectives in order to achieve strategic and operational objectives.
  • To furnish comments and suggestions to improve the performance of the portfolio.
  • Attending to internal and external auditors and providing all the required information/reports to facilitate the audit.
  • In liaison with Business, facilitate the budgeting process by providing the credit impairment numbers.
  • Provide all the credit numbers and insights required by Business in the annual Risk Appetite exercise.
  • Provide the Head office Credit-Finance team and the Portfolio Management team with all the credit related information required by them in their ROA portfolio monitoring duties.
  • Other relevant ad hoc duties as may be allocated by the head of PMRR.

  • Timely and accurate returns and reports.
  • Internal (bank) customer satisfaction i.e quality, accuracy and timeliness.
  • Competency and Efficiency within unit.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge

  • University degree Preferably in Business or Finance/ Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the bank’s laid-down credit policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of the Code of Banking Practice.
  • Experience in a consumer risk management, analytics or credit portfolio management.

Experience

  • 4 – 5 Years banking experience, with exposure to the credit function.
