Job Description

The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) was established by an Act of Parliament, Chapter 469 of the laws of Kenya , which became effective on 1st July 1995 . The Authority is charged with the responsibility of collecting revenue on behalf of the Government of Kenya. A Board of Directors, consisting of both public and private sector experts, makes policy decisions to be implemented by KRA Management. The Chairman of the Board is appointed by the President of the Republic of Kenya . The Chief Executive of the Authority is the Commissioner General who is appointed by the Minister for Finance. PURPOSE OF KRA Assessment , Collection, Administration and Enforcement of laws relating to revenue.

Purpose of the job:

Organization and coordination of Data Architecture and data quality function to improve data availability, accessibility, usability and integrity.

Key Responsibilities of the job:

  • Establish data practices and procedures that ensure adherence to the Data governance framework both at the business and corporate levels.
  • Facilitate the development and implementation of Data quality integrity and Data protection standards.
  • Coordinate the development and maintenance of corporate data dictionary, business glossary, standards and procedures.
  • Develop and implement enterprise data architecture.
  • Identify areas for data quality improvements and resolve data quality problems through the appropriate choice of error detection and correction.
  • Management of Performance, Audit, Integrity, QMS and Risk programmes.

Requirements

Academic qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics or related field from a recognized University.
  • Post Graduate degree in a related field is an added advantage.

Professional qualification

  • Certified Business Intelligence Professional (CBIP), Certified Data Management Professional, Certified Data Governance Professional or any other equivalent qualification.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body.

Work experience

  • Minimum of five (5) years work experience in similar role with at least two (2) years in first level management.
