Job Description

The National Housing Corporation (NHC) is a statutory body established by an Act of Parliament Cap. 117. The primary mandate of NHC is to play a principal role in the implementation of the Government’s Housing Policies and Programmes.

Job Specification:

Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:

  • Managing and directing research and innovation programs to meet Corporation’s needs and to capitalize on potential new products.
  • Developing research protocols/guidelines/frameworks
  • Preparing NHC Research and Innovation Strategy;
  • Mobilization of research funding and partnerships;
  • Planning and direct all aspects of an organization’s research and innovation policies, objectives, and initiative;
  • Developing a framework for identification, evaluation, patenting, designing of prototypes and incubation of innovations;
  • Oversee coordination of linkage with industry for housing innovations deployment;
  • Driving innovation and new technologies for new products and production processes
  • Forging partnerships with relevant research institutions to support housing mandate.

Person Specification:

  • At least twelve (12) years relevant work experience five (5) of which should have been in a supervisory role;
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
  • Masters Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
  • Member of a recognized professional body and in good standing;
  • Registered with relevant professional regulatory body;
  • Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
  • Proficiency in computer applications; and
  • Fulfilled the provisions of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
