Job Description

Ol Pejeta is the largest black rhino sanctuary in east Africa, and home to three of the world’s last remaining northern white rhino. It is the only place in Kenya to see chimpanzees, in a Sanctuary established to rehabilitate animals rescued from the black market.

Position Overview

We are seeking a talented and creative Marketing Intern to join our dynamic Marketing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting in developing and implementing effective digital marketing strategies to promote Ol Pejeta’s brand, engage with our target audience, and drive visitor awareness and participation. As the Marketing Intern, you will play a vital role in enhancing our online presence, managing various digital platforms, and ensuring a consistent and engaging brand experience across all digital channels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the marketing team in data entry tasks and management of customer databases and conducting basic data analysis to assess marketing campaign effectiveness.
  • Support the marketing team in organizing and coordinating events, campaigns and promotional activities.
  • Assist in development of marketing materials, including brochures, flyers etc.
  • Provide admin support to the marketing team as needed.
  • Assist in creating and implementing social media strategies across various platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and TikTok to create engaging content, monitor online presence and contribute to building an active online community.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to brainstorm and develop creative content ideas.
  • Assist in copywriting for website content, blog posts, social media and promotional materials.
  • Support the audio-visual team in creating audio-visual material; photography, videography and editing of produced content that meets set output qualities for online and social media
  • Support live streaming activities.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor or relevant department personnel to support the overall objectives of the internship and needs of the organisation.

Qualifications and skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and understanding of social media platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Knowledge of basic graphic design principles and tools (e.g. Canva) is a plus.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
