Job Description

Kenchic Limited is the leading producer of poultry in East and Central Africa. At its inception, the company’s main activity was the production of broiler and layer day-old chicks. Over the years the company has expanded operations to include processed chicken and further processed products. The company started its operations in 1984. The company’s Head Office is in Exsan House along Enterprise road. Kenchic is proud to be the largest integrated poultry operation in East and Central Africa and deals in day-old chicks, processed chicken meat and further processed products such as smoked sausages, choma sausages & sausages.

SUMMARY

The primary purpose of this role is to maintain all machines and ensure they are functional and available for the smooth running of the business

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Complement the Plant engineer and the department at large where necessary.
  • Implement the overall organization strategic plan
  • Facilitate installation of machines as is required by the organization to ensure smooth running of operations.
  • Perform service and maintenance on the machines and relevant equipment and report the findings to the line manager.
  • Conduct frequent checks on the job sites for potential hazards to ensure safety while working
  • Perform and/or assist with construction and repair work and operates construction equipment as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all matters pertaining to machines and their maintenance as is required by the organization.
  • Undertake reactive maintenance of the plant and all the machines to reduce the instances of machine failure or inefficiency thereby enabling efficient worldlow in the organization.
  • Monitor the availability of parts/stock inventory and replenish supplies as is necessary.
  • Optimizing mechanical efficiency by adjusting machinery and equipment settings.
  • Training coworkers on the safe and efficient use of mechanical machinery and equipment.
  • Maintaining a tidy work environment and adhering to industry regulations.

CANDIDATE’S PROFILE

  • Post Secondary diploma in mechanical engineering/any related field.
  • At least two (3) years proven experience in a similar role preferably in mechanical/technical work ie, trouble shooting.
  • Edensive knowledge of mechanical engineering systems, installations, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Proficiency in mechanical design and diagnostics.
  • Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problemsolving abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office tools eg. Word, Excel, PowerPoint is desirable but not essential
