Job Description

Dandelion Africa reduces maternal and child mortality by providing quality and accessible healthcare to communities in hard to reach rural areas. We do this through a medical facility, our backpack nurses who go door-to-door and a network of over 100 unpaid community health volunteers.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in the development and implementation of monitoring and evaluation plans for projects and programs.
  • Support the design and adaptation of monitoring tools and data collection instruments, ensuring alignment with project objectives and indicators.
  • Conduct data collection activities, including surveys, interviews, and focus group discussions.
  • Enter, clean, and manage data in monitoring and evaluation databases or systems.
  • Assist in the analysis of quantitative and qualitative data, under the guidance of the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer.
  • Participate in field visits to project sites to monitor activities, verify data, and document progress.
  • Provide logistical support for monitoring and evaluation activities, including organizing meetings and workshops.
  • Help prepare monitoring and evaluation reports, presentations, and other communication materials.
  • Support capacity building initiatives for project staff and partners on monitoring and evaluation processes.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with donor requirements and reporting standards related to monitoring and evaluation.
  • Ensure proper documentation of M&E activities including filing reports, data collection tools, and other relevant documents for easy reference.
  • Any other duties as maybe assigned by your supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in a relevant field such as social sciences, statistics, or international development.
  • Experience in monitoring and evaluation, data collection, or research activities is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and data management software.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and analysis.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while also being a proactive team player.
  • Interest in learning about monitoring and evaluation methodologies and tools.
  • Fluency in English and Kiswahili (additional languages, particularly relevant to the organization’s field of work, is an asset).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity, with the ability to work in multicultural environments.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for field visits and project activities.
