Job Description

Kenya Commercial Bank Limited is registered as a non-operating holding company which started operations as a licensed banking institution with effect from January 1, 2016. The holding company oversees KCB Kenya – incorporated with effect from January 1, 2016 – and all KCB’s regional units in Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Ethiopia and South Sudan. It also owns KCB Insurance Agency, KCB Capital, KCB Foundation and all associate companies. The holding company was set up to among other things to enhance the Group’s capacity to access unrestricted capital and also enable investment in new ventures outside banking regulations, achieve operational and strategic autonomy for the Group’s operating entities and enhance corporate governance across the Group and oversight in management of subsidiaries.

Responsibilities

  • Implementing the Bank’s corporate communications strategy within prescribed guidelines and budgets.
  • Identify and capitalize on opportunities to promote and positively represent the Bank through external communication including public speaking and thought leadership opportunities for the executive leadership.
  • Managing the team that creates and monitors Business on all matters sustainability to enable reporting to CBK on a quarterly basis.
  • Creating and managing valuable media partnerships and engagement plans and facilitate media visibility and publicity for all corporate events, functions and activities
  • Ensure that all corporate communications generated by the Bank align to the Brand communications policies and procedures, represents the corporate identity and promotes the organizations mission.
  • Develop appropriate metrics for measuring impact of corporate communication initiatives and provide appropriate reports on the ROI on corporate communications engagements.
  • Work with other communication teams across the Group subsidiaries to ensure there is cohesive, consistent messaging and communications across the Group.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to the design, production and editing of corporate publications and press information as well as writing and editing the Bank’s publication materials and corporate events launches.
  • Developing effective crisis response communications to mitigate the publicity reputational risks.
  • Develop and implement effective internal communication strategies that build employee loyalty and employee brand affinity and continually review, identify, and develop appropriate communication channels for the different internal audiences.
  • Build consistent and timely internal communications programs and processes required to support organizational change and employee engagement initiatives through review of different audiences, review of any internal influences, scan the globe for best practices, review progress against plans etc.
  • Originating speeches, statements, profiles and other forms of corporate communications for executive leadership.
  • Create and manage website content and maintain the digital brand look and feel for all Bank’s Digital Resources and portals to ensure brand consistency.
  • Manage and motivate the Digital and Corporate Communication team.
  • Champion the sustainability agenda in the Bank to ensure sustainable business practices including sustainable lending best practices.
  • Design and implement Social initiaves while working closely with the KCB Foundation to carry out the strategic initiatives
  • Any other assignment by the Director/Managing Director.
