Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

To cultivate a safe, secure and healthy environment for patients, colleagues and staff and provide exceptional quality care services to patients and their family members

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To maintain the highest possible standard of client care by adhering to the hospital standard treatment protocol and guidelines
  •  To continually monitor and evaluate patients admitted in the wards and assist doctors on ward rounds.
  •  Perform other procedures including dressing wounds, stitching, conducting deliveries, bedmaking, dump dusting, taking vitals and physical examinations as per the Hospital guidelines and protocols.
  •  Assist in theatre by preparing instruments, circulating, scrubbing and monitoring of patients
  •  Ensure patient safety as well as ensuring the client information is kept confidential at all times.
  • Ensure 24hr coverage of the Hospital by adhering to the monthly duty coverage rotas
  • To implement a smooth, efficient client flow to minimize client waiting time
  • To provide accurate, friendly, helpful service, advice, guidance and education to all clients maintaining a high customer service environment.
  •  Ensure doctor’s and nursing room is clean, equipped and well maintained as well as assist in preparation for procedures.
  •  Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols
  •  Appropriately and timely admission of patients who require inpatient care and initiating discharge plan as well as ensuring all chargeable services and items are billed
  •  To have accurate filling of all medical claims and ensure timely preparation of MOH and nursing reports

REQUIEMENTS

QUALIFICATIONS

  •  Diploma/Degree in Nursing or Midwifery from a recognized institution.
  •  Registered Nurse with valid practicing license with the Nursing Council of Kenya
  •  2 years’ experience in Nursing in a busy hospital

  •  Excellent customer service skills, team Player and Good interpersonal skills
  •  Strong organizational and time-management abilities
